This document is for information only and is not legal advice. For advice on your own situation, consult a qualified professional.

1. Introduction and who we are

This privacy policy explains how Savvy WordPress Development (“Savvy”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use savvy.co.il. The site is run by Roee Yossef, who offers WordPress development services and writes the blog.

We are based in Israel. This policy forms part of our terms of use.

2. What personal data we collect

We may collect the following kinds of personal data:

  • Contact form: when you contact us through the site’s form, we receive your name, email address, phone number, website address, the type of project and your message.
  • WhatsApp: if you message us on WhatsApp, we receive your phone number, your WhatsApp profile name and the messages you send.
  • Comments: when you leave a comment, we collect what you enter in the comment form (name, email address and the comment), your IP address and your browser’s user agent. Comments are checked for spam by Akismet. If your email address is linked to a Gravatar profile, your Gravatar image appears next to your comment.
  • Newsletter: when you subscribe, we send your email address to beehiiv, which runs our mailing list. beehiiv also records whether you open our emails and click their links.
  • Usage and analytics: Google Analytics 4 and Cloudflare Web Analytics collect information such as the pages you view, your device and browser type, how you reached the site and your approximate location. We look at this data in aggregate to understand how the site is used.
  • Performance monitoring: New Relic measures how fast pages load and records technical errors, along with your browser type and IP address.
  • Technical logs: our hosting provider and our security and caching services record IP addresses, request times and similar technical data, for security and to keep the site running.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: see the cookies section below.

3. How we use your data

We use your data to:

  • reply to your inquiries and, if we work together, provide the services you asked for;
  • publish and manage comments, including spam filtering;
  • send you our newsletter, if you subscribed;
  • understand how the site is used and improve its content and speed;
  • run and protect the site, including blocking spam, abuse and attacks;
  • meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

5. Cookies and tracking

The site uses cookies and similar technologies. We do not currently show a cookie consent banner. You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time, as explained below.

Types we use:

  • Essential: needed for the site to work, such as security, spam protection and remembering your details in the comment form if you choose to.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics 4 sets cookies to measure traffic and usage.
  • Functional: the site may remember preferences such as your language.
  • Embedded content: YouTube videos and other embeds may set their own cookies when you view a page that contains them.

Managing cookies: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works. To stop Google Analytics from measuring your visits, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

6. Service providers and third parties

We share data only with the service providers that help us run the site:

  • Hosting: Cloudways (site hosting and server logs).
  • Security and delivery: Cloudflare (content delivery network, attack protection and Web Analytics). All traffic to the site passes through Cloudflare.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited).
  • Performance monitoring: New Relic.
  • Comments: Akismet and Gravatar (Automattic).
  • Newsletter: beehiiv (email delivery and list management).
  • Messaging: WhatsApp (Meta), only if you choose to message us there.
  • Email: messages from the contact form reach us by email, through our email provider.
  • Embedded content: when you view a page with a YouTube video or another embed, that provider may collect data as if you had visited its own site. See its privacy policy for details.

Each provider has its own privacy policy. We may also disclose data when the law requires it.

7. International transfers

Your data may be processed in Israel and in other countries where our service providers operate, such as the United States and EU member states. When data moves between countries, we rely on the safeguards the law allows, such as adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses.

If you are in the EU, the EEA or the UK: the European Commission and the UK recognize Israel as providing an adequate level of protection for personal data. Transfers to providers in other countries rely on those providers’ own safeguards (for example, Google, Cloudflare, Automattic and beehiiv).

8. How long we keep data

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires:

  • Contact form messages and WhatsApp chats: as long as needed to handle your inquiry and any work that follows, and for as long as the law requires us to keep business records.
  • Comments: kept with the post until you ask us to remove them. Akismet keeps spam-check data under its own policy.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe or we remove your address. beehiiv may keep data under its own policy.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics 4 keeps user-level data for a limited period, after which only aggregated reports remain.
  • Server and security logs: for a limited period set by our hosting and security providers.

When a retention period ends, we delete or anonymize the data where possible.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. These include secure hosting, Cloudflare protection, HTTPS on every page and keeping WordPress, its plugins and the server software up to date. No way of sending or storing data is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access: ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: ask us to fix data that is wrong or incomplete.
  • Deletion: ask us to delete your data, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format, where the law gives you that right (for example, under the GDPR).
  • Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interests, or stop receiving marketing emails (for example, by unsubscribing from the newsletter).
  • Restriction: ask us to limit how we use your data in certain cases.
  • Withdrawing consent: where we rely on consent, withdraw it at any time.

To use any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will reply within a reasonable time. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority: in Israel, the Privacy Protection Authority; in the EU, your local data protection authority.

11. Children’s privacy

The site is not meant for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe we have collected data from a child, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will appear on this page with a new effective date, so please check it now and then.

This policy is a translation of the Hebrew privacy policy. If the two versions differ, the Hebrew version prevails.

Effective date of this version: October 30, 2026
